Falling leaves and crisp, cool breezes. Fall marks the return of all the cool stuff that comes around only once a year. Embrace the leaves changing colors with vibrant hues of magenta's, oranges and yellows. Pumpkins, Hay-bales, Cornstalks, Apples, Mums, Asters & Scarecrows! Van Bourgondien Nursery has a Kaleidoscope of colorful Decorations to suit any Pallet! From simple Harvest decorations to Thrilling and Chilling Halloween Displays. Let your Autumn Memories and Fall Family Fun Begin here!

Start decorating with mums that offer a glorious complement to the bounty of the harvest. Plant them anywhere that cries out for a spectacular splash of color. They extend the gardening season for weeks and their needs are simple. Mums now have a lot of company and Asters lead the way! Most Asters are perennials and are grown in containers and can be transplanted directly into the ground without wilting or suffering shock.

Colorful Pansies and Violas are also great choices for fall planting. Ideally, these cool-weather loving flowers should be planted from now until mid-October to allow their roots to become established. The sooner you plant them, the more likely they will survive the winter and re-bloom next spring. Plant them in flower beds to compliment your fall plantings, but you can also plant them along with your spring flowering bulbs (tulips and daffs) and you will see how well they compliment each other in spring.

Last but not least the fancy-leaved cousins of our familiar vegetables, Ornamental Cabbage, Kale and Peppers make a bold statement in Autumn gardening. They lend a completely different texture but often get overlooked when it comes to flowerbeds and containers because they don't have traditional flowers. Foliage plants compliment flowering plants in any season! Now is the time to freshen up your flowerbeds, containers, pots and urns and at Van Bourgondien Nursery we have all the fall blooms you will need!
