A sure sign Autumn is here is when trays of pansies, along with pumpkins and gourds arrive. Pansies are one of the most popular and recognizable cool weather annuals with their happy faces. The warm soil and cooler air temperatures encourage the plants to grow quickly and produce lots of colorful blooms. Fall Pansies are available in rich colors that compliment the changing autumn leaves.

Bulb Companion
Plant Pansies along with Spring Flowering Bulbs in the fall. Plant Pansies in front or amongst the bulbs. The pansies will provide color during the fall, and then both the pansies and the spring bulbs will bloom together in the spring.

Decorate Planters for Fall
Fall pansies can also be used to decorate planters, patio containers and window boxes. They will continue to bloom for many weeks until a hard freeze. In the fall, Pansies pair well with Mums, Ornamental Pepper, Celosia, Montauk Daisies, Grasses and vines.

Over Winter Success
Not only will Pansies bloom through the first snowfall, but they will also re-bloom in the spring and into early summer. At the end of a rough winter, the foliage and stems may look a bit spent but they will produce fresh green growth once the weather warms in the spring.

Whether planted in the ground or in containers, remember to keep the plants well watered and fed in the Fall. For continuous colorful blooms we recommend feeding all flowering plants with Bud and Bloom to help them stay strong throughout the winter and to insure success full re-bloom in spring.
